EURASHE Projects
AIRinVET SYMPOSIUM IN THE BASQUE COUNTRY
On 15-16 October, the project consortium met in San Sebastián, Basque Country to share its findings, touching upon policies, mappings, the relevance of VET, and stakeholders’ involvement among other topics.
In addition to showcasing the project, representatives from other FORWARD-looking projects such as BARCOVE and the Challenger Project were present as well.

THE QUALITY ASSURANCE COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE MEETS IN VILNIUS
Another meeting of the EURASHE Quality Assurance Community of Practice (QA CoP) took place on 21-22 October 2024 at Vilniaus Kolegija (VIKO).
Participants engaged in workshops and peer exchanges on the involvement of teachers in Quality Assurance, as well as presentations on projects like QA-FIT and AIRinVET. The event also featured discussions with representatives from ETUCE and ESU.
EURASHE AT ERCUAS VISION DAY TALLINN
On 15 October, EURASHE President Hannes Raffaseder and Board member Ulla Preeden spoke at the Estonian Rectors’ Conference of Universities of Applied Sciences Vision Day in Tallinn, discussing the future of applied higher education in Estonia. Key topics included internationalisation, talent attraction, and how Estonia can strengthen its position as a hub for global education and research.

EURASHE PAPER ON FP10
EURASHE recently published a position paper on the upcoming EU 10th Research and Innovation Framework Programme (FP10). In it, We urge policy makers to strengthen links between basic and applied research to boost EU competitiveness.
EURASHE STATEMENT ON THE SEAL OF EXCELLENCE AWARDED TO SELECTED EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES ALLIANCES
During the latest call for European Universities Alliances, some of these groupings received a Seal of Excellence despite not being selected for funding. We urge the creation of a clear, comprehensive roadmap and outlining concrete steps to ensure that Seal of Excellence recipients are not left behind.

EURASHE ANNUAL CONFERENCE CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS NOW OPEN
We are currently accepting contributions to breakout sessions addressing the key question of the Annual Conference:
How can Higher Education Institutions contribute to sustainable and inclusive European competitiveness within regional innovation ecosystems adapted to the local context, following the smart specialisation approach?
The deadline for submissions is Sunday 15 December 2024.

JOIN OUR WORKSHOP ON APPLIED HIGHER EDUCATION AND VET
On 19 November from 15:00 to 16:00, we are hosting this in-person workshop exploring the intersection of Applied Higher Education and Vocational Education and Training (VET).
Based on the findings of the Applied Innovation and Research in VET (AIRinVET) project, the session will highlight key insights into the current state of cooperation and findings. It will aim to present a roadmap and conclusions of the project focused on applied research and innovation in VET ecosystems.
SAVE THE DATE: EU4DUAL ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2025
On 2-3 April 2025, the EU4Dual Annual Conference will be held in San Sebastian (ES) and Bidart (FR) under the theme “Greener Visions, Brighter Futures”. Key topics explored include the green economy, dual higher education, and the future of work.

JOIN THE EUROPEAN HIGHER EDUCATION SECTOR OBSERVATORY (EHESO)
EHESO is funded through Erasmus+ and operated by a consortium under a service contract with the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). It aims to integrate, streamline and improve all data sources on European Higher Education on a single, comprehensive data platform. It will include data from ETER, U-Multirank, Eurydice and other relevant data sources, allowing you to compare, analyse and showcase the higher education sector’s performance.
Key benefits:
- Increased visibility, including trough the Student Observatory tool.
- Access to innovative benchmarking tool to compare your institution using new indicators.
- Self-assessment and continuous improvement.
- Data-driven policy development and monitoring.
Participation will not require redundant data collection. However, to gain access to the benchmarking tool, you will need to provide data or information for the new indicators.
