ATHENA
The ATHENA project aims to transform the HE sector and to offer students education that will include knowledge on accessibility. This will lead to new approaches to building a more inclusive society in various professions by developing recommendations on integrating Accessibility and Design for All into the Higher Education curricula.

PARTNERSHIPS FOR INNOVATION
EURASHE President Armando Pires and John Edwards, EURASHE Secretary General, participated in the European Commission event on Partnerships for Regional Innovation. Mariya Gabriel announced the first call for Regional Innovation Valleys. Speakers included Ana Abrunhosa from the Portuguese Government and Maria Da Graça Carvalho, Member of the European Parliament.
AHEAD BY BETT
Jon Altuna, Vice Rector of Mondragon University and EURASHE Board member presented a session at the Ahead by Bett in London, United Kingdom. The session Transnational Provision of Higher Education within Europe assessed the implications of transnational cooperation in higher education.

NEEDS AND WELL-BEING OF STUDENTS AND STAFF: THEMATIC GROUP REPORT
The DIGI HE project has published the report on Needs and Well-being of students and staff: Thematic Peer Group Report. As an associate partner, EURASHE has collaborated with Dublin City University (DCU), Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg (DHBW), Jÿvaskyla University (JYU), Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), EDEN Digital Learning Europe & Irish University Association (IAU). This publication will assess the current state and challenges of the academic community.

EURASHE’s new member Metropolia University of Applied Sciences will host a two-day hybrid event on new perspectives on collaboration and learning for sustainable well-being next May. With a line-up of international speakers and workshops, Futures Arena will focus on RDI and future digital solutions.
TARTU HEALTH CARE COLLEGE OPENS INTERNATIONAL ADMISSION FOR THE MASTER’S PROGRAMME IN RADIOGRAPHY
Tartu Health Care College, a member of the Estonian Rectors’ Conference of Universities of Applied Sciences, has launched an international Master’s in Radiography, unique in the Baltics. It provides opportunities to obtain profound knowledge and be employed at different levels of the health care system and in education and research institutions.
Studies are instructed in collaboration with the University of Latvia, the University of Tartu, North-Estonian Regional Hospital, Tartu University Hospital, and experts from several European countries (Finland, UK) and Canada.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: EURASHE BOARD 2023-2025
EURASHE invites full members to nominate candidates for the election of nine board members for mandates of 2 years. The elections will occur at the upcoming General Assembly on June 7th 2023, in Bucharest, Romania. Immediately after the election of the Board members, the new Board will convene and seek the candidacy among its members for the positions of the President and two Vice-Presidents.
EQAF CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS
The 2023 European Quality Assurance Forum has opened the call for contributions for this year’s event and is welcoming papers, workshops and practice presentations from welcomes submissions from quality assurance practitioners.

UASIMAP: MAPPING THE REGIONAL IMPACT OF UNIVERSITIES OF APPLIED SCIENCES | JUNE 7th
This event will present a dedicated framework to just that, developed within a project called UASiMAP. Altogether, ten UAS piloted the framework inspired by the HEInnovate self-assessment tool and the Regional Innovation Impact Assessment (RIIA) methodology.
PEER LEARNING ACTIVITY ON STUDENT-CENTRED LEARNING | JUNE 7TH
The PLA, organised by the BFUG Working Group on Learning and Teaching and EURASHE, will bring together different stakeholders in higher education to share information about the system-level developments, exchange good practices and discuss possible commitments concerning further enhancing the student-centred learning approach at the system-level.

THE ROAD TOWARDS A POSSIBLE JOINT EUROPEAN DEGREE
This study aimed to explore how a possible joint European Degree could be implemented, including assessing the impact and feasibility of different approaches. The study began in April 2021 and was implemented while discussions about a possible joint European Degree were evolving at the European level.
FINAL REPORT: STUDY ON THE STATE AND EFFECTIVENESS OF NATIONAL FUNDING SYSTEMS OF HIGHER EDUCATION TO SUPPORT THE EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES INITIATIVE
This study analyses the implementation of performance-based funding (PBF) systems in the 27 EU Member States and evaluates their impact. Furthermore, it seeks to understand how and to what extent national (PBF) funding schemes can support transnational university alliances, as initiated under the European Commission’s European Universities Initiative (EUI) in 2019.
