RESEARCH FORUM OF THE AUSTRIAN UNIVERSITIES OF APPLIED SCIENCES
EURASHE joined the Research Forum of the Austrian Universities of Applied Sciences in Fachhoschschule St. Pölten, where John Edwards provided a keynote speech on ‘The Role of UAS in Smart Specialisation’.

BOLOGNA PROCESS THEMATIC PEER GROUP
EURASHE attended the Bologna Process thematic Peer Group in Tirana, focusing on the specific thematic indications for TPG B “establishing the legal framework to allow the implementation of the LRC. There was also a public seminar on automatic recognition that will explore the topic in a multi-faceted way, starting with an overview of the issue from the results of the questionnaire on the perception of higher education institutions of automatic recognition distributed before the seminar.
Policy
EUROPEAN STRATEGY FOR UNIVERSITIES
Significant progress has been made, particularly on the European Universities initiative, where 44 alliances involving 340 higher education institutions from all across Europe are actively engaged. Also, the results of the Erasmus+ policy experimentation call on a joint European degree label and a legal status for alliances of higher education institutions have been announced, and projects have kicked off.
EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK FOR ATTRACTIVE AND SUSTAINABLE CAREERS IN HIGHER EDUCATION
The Commission is working with Ecorys, which is conducting a study on behalf of the European Commission. In view of getting your thoughts ahead of upcoming consultation events, they invite you to participate in the online survey on the European Framework for sustainable and attractive careers in Higher Education, targeting stakeholders in the European higher education landscape. The survey will close on 20 May 2023.

PARUL UNIVERSITY BROADENING ITS PARTNERSHIPS
Parul University (PU), a EURASHE member, is broadening its relationships and network, looking for partnerships with European Higher Education Institutions in all kinds of activities, Erasmus+ exchange included. PU welcomes 35000 students and has formed global partnerships with over 75 institutions and organisations, including other EURASHE members such as Vilniaus Kolegija UAS.
Parul University, India’s youngest NAACA++-accredited university, was awarded the Best University in Placements.

UASIMAP: MAPPING THE REGIONAL IMPACT OF UNIVERSITIES OF APPLIED SCIENCES | JUNE 7th
This event will present a dedicated framework to just that, developed within a project called UASiMAP. Altogether, ten UAS piloted the framework inspired by the HEInnovate self-assessment tool and the Regional Innovation Impact Assessment (RIIA) methodology.
PEER LEARNING ACTIVITY ON STUDENT-CENTRED LEARNING | JUNE 7th
The PLA, organised by the BFUG Working Group on Learning and Teaching and EURASHE, will bring together different stakeholders in higher education to share information about the system-level developments, exchange good practices and discuss possible commitments concerning further enhancing the student-centred learning approach at the system-level.
UAS4EUROPE NETWORKING CONFERENCE
Intending to foster international collaboration, Horizon Europe, the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, allocates a large part of its budget to application-oriented research. This comes with much potential for UAS.
Therefore, they want to dedicate our third Networking Conference to offering a mid-term review of Horizon Europe from the perspective of applied sciences

COMMISSION CALLS FOR A MASSIVE BOOST OF DIGITAL SKILLS
The European Commission adopted two proposals for a Council recommendation coinciding with the European Year of Skills. The two proposals call on all Member States to improve the provision of digital skills and ensure access to inclusive digital education.
