TOWARDS TIRANA: EURASHE PART OF INTENSE DISCUSSIONS IN THE BOLOGNA PROCESS
As a consultative member of the Bologna Follow-Up Group (BFUG), EURASHE helps build the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) along with 47 national government representatives. Recently activity has stepped up considerably, due to the closing of the Bologna cycle at the Ministerial Conference in the Albanian capital of Tirana at the end of May. This month EURASHE participated in the first of two Board meetings hosted by the Holy See, which is co-chairing the BFUG along with Belgium that will host two meetings of the BFUG (usually there is only one of each per semester).
EHEA is a process, which drives the development and cohesion of the Higher Education in Europe. Since each of stakeholders and countries are having their own priorities, EURASHE is pushing for a greater commitment to increasing the employability of students, preventing brain drain within the EHEA, engaging more with regional development needs, and promotion and recognition of short cycle higher education.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information about the Bologna Process and the Tirana Ministerial Conference.
