Every Thursday, the AIRinVET project will be releasing one new video showcasing innovative strategies to enhance partnerships between SMEs and VET centers with Applied Innovation and Research.
ATHENA EXPERT CONSULTATION
The ATHENA project promotes inclusive education by developing guidelines and recommendations on Accessibility and Universal Design for All. The aim of the project is to include these guidelines into Higher Education curricula in order to foster the social inclusion of persons with disabilities.
To feed recommendations on how to integrate accessibility and design for all into HE curricula, EURASHE is organising an online consultation in the format of a written interview, involving HE institutional staff, accessibility and educational experts, and curricula design experts among others.

CDEDU SUB-GROUP ON HIGHER EDUCATION POLICY MEETS
During the recent meeting of the CDEDU sub-group on Higher Education Policy, discussions centered around reviewing the implementation of the Council of Europe’s Higher Education actions for the upcoming 2024-2027 programme.
Key topics included reinforcing the democratic mission of higher education, exploring the establishment of a standard-setting instrument for automatic recognition and the actions carried by Ad Hoc Working Group with EURASHE’s involvement, assessing the Council of Europe’s role in the European Higher Education Area between 2021 and 2024, and addressing the integration of Artificial Intelligence in education.
These discussions reflect a continued commitment to enhancing the quality, accessibility, and democratic values of higher education across Europe.

CELEBRATING SUCCESS: HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE CCHE 2024 CONFERENCE
Several higher education institutions part of the Conference of Academies for Applied Studies in Serbia (CAASS) coordinate the International Multidisciplinary Conference “Challenges of Contemporary Higher Education” (CCHE).
The CCHE 2024 Conference, a pivotal event in the academic world, has successfully concluded, marking a significant academic collaboration and innovation achievement. This year’s conference, held for the first time, stood out for its remarkable engagement and contribution, with 407 research papers presented across various sessions, covering the latest advancements and findings in higher education.
ALL DIGITAL WEEKS 2024 – 13-31 MAY
This year, the awareness-raising campaign ALL DIGITAL Weeks 2024 will run over 3 weeks from 13 May until 31 May 2024. The campaign will be supported by the European Commission, involve international and national partners, and participating organisations in different European countries.
In March you will be able to join the campaign by adding your event on digital skills to the map of events.
9th ASEM EDUCATION MINISTERS’ MEETING
The Malta Further & Higher Education Authority hosted the 9th ASEM Education Ministers’ Meeting (ASEMME9) in Malta, with the presence of Hon. Dr. Clifton Grima, Minister for Education, Sport, Youth, Research, and Innovation of Malta, along with ASEM Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Secretaries of State, Ambassadors, and delegates from Asia and Europe.
During this conference , participants remained to underscore the importance of equitable access to further and higher education, promoting equal opportunities regardless of socio-economic background. This whole experience aimed at ensuring that participants could learn from one another and leverage existing expertise. Utilising digitalisation as a mechanism to tackle existing gaps in education, ensuring that no one is left behind.

WHAT DOES THE EU MEAN TO YOU?
In light of the upcoming EU Parliament Elections, the E³UDRES² Alliance is launching a call for video contributions under the motto “EU Matters”, asking participants to tell their story about why the European Union matters to them.
With the call officially launching on 01 March 2024, more information will be available on the E³UDRES² website and Social Media soon.
EUA ONLINE CONSULTATION ON ACADEMIC RECOGNITION
In the framework of its project on Automatic Recognition of Qualifications, the Council of Europe (CoE) invites representatives from higher education institutions from Council of Europe member states to join an online consultation meeting on 15 March 2024 at 10:00 CET, organised in cooperation with the European University Association and EURASHE.
The aim of this consultation is to get an understanding of views and approaches to automatic recognition from higher education institutions, with the further goal to better inform the preparation of a legal text on automatic recognition issued by the Council of Europe. Please note that no more than one representative per higher education institution can be admitted to the consultation.

EUA WORKSHOP: “THE FUTURE OF THE R&I DIMENSION OF EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES ALLIANCES”
Do you hold a strategic role in shaping university R&I cooperation, within a European Universities alliance or beyond, at an EUA member university? Are you keen to contribute to the improvement of policies and framework conditions for R&I cooperation? And would like to exchange ideas with peers?
If so, you are invited to participate in the upcoming EUA workshop to discuss the challenges and opportunities in developing the R&I dimension of European Universities alliances. “INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVES IN EDUCATION” CONFERENCE
The IPiE2024 International Conference is taking place on 24-25 May, 2024 at University of the Aegean, Department of Geography, Mytilene, Greece in a hybrid format. This year’s theme is “Voices from the Classroom”.
The call for abstracts is currently open until 19 April 2024.
