Launch Event of the Skills Community of Practice

Competences required to tackle the Green and Digital transitions as well as current skills gaps in the labour market, are the drivers behind the EURASHE Community of Practice on Skills. The launch of such a Community was previously on the EURASHE agenda, yet the designation of 2023 as the European Year of Skills by Commission President von der Leyen creates the momentum for prioritizing this crosscutting topic and joining forces to support the upskilling and reskilling in Europe. It is strongly aligned with the European Skills Agenda and The European Pillar of Social Rights that place as a first principle the right to quality and inclusive education, training and life-long learning for people’s skills development adapted to society’s needs.

The Skills Community of Practice will bring together institutions, associations and policymakers working on future skills development within the Education & Training sector, providing a space for learning and new ideas for optimising skills ecosystems at national and regional levels. It is co-lead by Mondragon University, Basque Country, Spain and the Future Skills Think Tank NextEducation from Baden-Wurttemberg Cooperative State University, Germany, both partners in the new European University Alliance EU4DUAL. Everyone involved in this event will be in a position to contribute with experience and knowledge to shaping together the future of skills in Europe!
