EURASHE WINS FOUR NEW ERASMUS+ PROJECTS
We are proud to join four upcoming Erasmus+ initiatives, including one coordinated by EURASHE. The Bologna Process for Learning and Teaching (BP4LnT) project will map how student-centred learning is supported across the EHEA and examine how higher education institutions embed lifelong learning into their strategies.

Two weeks ago in Lahore (Pakistan), EURASHE joined international experts from organisations including INQAAHE and the World Bank to deliver training for the Pakistan Network of Quality Assurance in Higher Education (PNQAHE) during its 5th international conference.

EURASHE POSITION PAPER ON THE UNION OF SKILLS
EURASHE recently published a new position paper, Applied Sciences for the Union of Skills, outlining how applied higher education can strengthen Europe’s competitiveness. The paper highlights the role of universities of applied sciences in closing skills gaps, driving innovation, and supporting lifelong learning. EURASHE commits to concrete actions aligned with the European Commission’s Union of Skills initiative. It underscores the need for agile institutions that can respond swiftly to changing labour market demands. EURASHE welcomes continued EU investment in flexible learning, micro-credentials, and transnational partnerships.
NEW OECD REPORT ON QUALITY AND INNOVATION IN HIGHER EDUCATION AND VET
Part B of the OECD’s Education Policy Perspective explores how ten European countries are promoting quality and pedagogical innovation in higher education and vocational education and training (VET)—beyond traditional quality assurance. The paper is part of an EU-funded project in collaboration with the Lithuanian Ministry of Education, Science and Sports and the European Commission.

ENQA WORKSHOP ON THE RESPONSIBLE USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN Q&A AGENCIES
Registration is open for the ENQA Workshop on the Responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in Quality Assurance Agencies, taking place on 11-12 June 2025 in Tallinn, Estonia. This event provides an opportunity to learn and share experience on the use of artificial intelligence in external quality assurance.
NEW FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
The European Commission has launched four new calls under the Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL), offering €140 million to boost AI, advanced digital skills, and digitalisation across key sectors. Applications are open until 2 September.

From 22-26 September in Prague, this high-level event focuses on the Cultural and Creative Sector and Industries (CCSI), aiming to strengthen collaborations between Higher Education, VET providers and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) within the sector.
EUROPEAN ALLIANCE FOR APPRENTICESHIPS HIGH-LEVEL EVENT 2025
The 2025 High-Level Event, scheduled for 30 June–1 July, will focus on how apprenticeships can support the European Commission’s Union of Skills and Clean Industrial Deal initiatives. Key discussions will explore the role of work-based learning in green skills, clean technologies, and STEM education. The event offers a platform for strengthening commitments and encouraging new partnerships within the European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA). Registration is open until 30 May 2025.

To strengthen Europe’s position on the global stage, the European University Association (EUA) urges policymakers to recognise the central role of universities in shaping a knowledge-driven economy.
