Freddy Coignoul

Freddy Coignoul is DVM, MS and PhD. He graduated in veterinary medicine at the University of Liège (ULg) in 1974 where he became a full professor in 1993. He also obtained a Master degree (1981) and a PhD (1983) in Veterinary pathology at Iowa State University (USA). In 2009, he was appointed Vice-rector in charge of quality assurance at ULg, a position he kept up to his retirement. He is, since October 1st, 2015, Professor emeritus and Honorary Vice-rector. In terms of quality assurance, Freddy Coignoul served as chair or member of several national and international expert panels with AERES (France), EAEVE, EUA, and OAQ (Switzerland). He gained experience on quality evaluations in Belgium and in various European countries (Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Italy, Romania, Spain, Switzerland). From 2008 to 2010, he chaired the Belgian (French) Agency for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (AEQES). Currently, he is a member of the Register Committee of the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) and, in Belgium, chairs the Commission for Quality Assessment in Education and Research (CoQER) of the Academy of Research and Education (ARES) of the French Community.
