Amid speculation about the format of support for Research and Innovation in the next EU Multiannual Financial Framework (2028-2034), EURASHE has today published a position paper on a possible 10th Framework Programme (FP10).
Recent high-level reports on competitiveness and the single market have shown the importance of applying R&I across the whole of the European Union.
While basic research is essential to push the limits of knowledge, EURASHE urges the European Commission and the co-legislators to maintain the balance with applied research, while strengthening the widening measures, synergies with other funding programmes and capacity building initiatives (e.g. the HEI Initiative).
