Ovidius University of Constanța (Universitatea Ovidius din Constanța – UOC) is a public higher education institution founded in 1961 and transformed into a comprehensive university in 1990. It provides study programs in medical and natural sciences, humanities and engineering, social and economic sciences, law and administrative sciences, theology, and arts.

The mission of UOC is to create, maintain and disseminate knowledge to society through education and research at international standards, with an impact on the entire Black Sea region, Europe, and beyond. With over 15,000 students, of which more than 1100 are international, it is the largest university in South-East Romania and the largest European university at the Black Sea.

Having fully implemented the Bologna Process since the academic year 2005-2006, the university is part of the European Higher Education Area, offering diplomas recognised in the European Union and beyond.
