National University Odessa Maritime Academy

The National University “Odessa Maritime Academy” (NUOMA) was founded in 1944 as a Maritime Higher Educational Institution. It provides study programmes from level 5 to level 8 according to the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED) and the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).

The main fields of education at NUOMA are: navigation and ship handling, marine engineering, electrical engineering, automation, maritime law, management in the maritime sector, transport technology and port operations, and hydro-technical constructions. On top of these, the institution also provides a number of refresher and updating courses for seafarers and other specialists of the maritime sector, including Maritime Administration.
