Founded in 1963, the Federation for European Education (FEDE) is an INGO (international non-governmental organization) that brings together 500 educational institutions across 40 countries, most of which are located in Europe. FEDE members promote education and learning for all, with an emphasis on academic independence and quality education. The FEDE produces innovative degree teaching guidelines in 12 elite subject areas and organises international examinations. It awards over 170 degrees providing access to a large range of contemporary and future-oriented professions and runs a doctoral school and publication-producing research programmes. It grants accreditation and quality certification to programmes offered by educational institutions and builds partnerships with trade associations. Thanks to its expertise, the FEDE is an official, recognised partner of a number of international organisations such as the Council of Europe, UNESCO, OIF, ECOSOC. It is also committed to fighting corruption in partnership with the Council of Europe’s Group of States against Corruption (GRECO).
