A SUCCESSFUL CONFERENCE IN AMSTERDAM
A few weeks ago, 230 higher education leaders, policymakers, researchers, students and practitioners from across Europe and the world gathered in Amsterdam for the 35th EURASHE Annual Conference, hosted by Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
“This is the first EURASHE conference in The Netherlands—first of many, I am sure. This year we had record participation and high-level keynote speakers and panel discussions, more than ever before, which shows just how relevant the theme is at the moment for the applied sciences” — said John Edwards, EURASHE Secretary General.

EURASHE RESPONDS TO THE ‘RIGHT TO STAY’ STRATEGY
In June, EURASHE submitted its response to the European Commission’s Call for Evidence on the ‘Right to Stay’ Strategy, strongly supporting its goal to ensure citizens can build their futures in their home regions.
Our response highlights that Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), including Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS), are crucial anchors of regional attractiveness and competitiveness. By driving applied research, skills development, and innovation with local SMEs, HEIs strengthen local labour markets and help territories overcome demographic decline.

EUAS ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATION CONFERENCE
On 1 October 2026, the Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences (EUAS) hosts its fourteenth annual Entrepreneurship and Innovation Conference, “Future DRIVE,” at the Öpiku Conference Centre in Ülemiste City, Tallinn.
The conference explores the skills, knowledge and mindsets shaping tomorrow’s world, one driven by Development, Research, Innovation, Venture, and Entrepreneurship (DRIVE). Bringing researchers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and students together, it examines how science and business can collaborate to turn research into practical, sustainable value. Participation is free of charge, and the working language is English. Researchers are warmly invited to contribute through presentations, posters, or the conference proceedings. Whether attending or presenting, participants gain a valuable opportunity to reflect on the growing role of research in innovation and to connect with peers.

European HE sector reacts to EP CULT draft report on Erasmus+
EURASHE and 16 partners have jointly welcomed the draft report on Erasmus+ published by the European Parliament’s Committee on Culture and Education (CULT). The report proposes €47.39 billion for Erasmus+ under the next MFF, which is a welcome increase on the Commission’s proposed €40.8 billion.
