Education for an Interdependent World (EDIW)

EDIW (Education for an Interdependent World) is a non-profit Association (ASBL), created in 1996, under Belgian Law. It aims at promoting and facilitating actions and projects in the educational domain that will contribute to an active, participatory, ethical and innovative citizenship. It supports opportunities for internships and employment in Europe and elsewhere. The Association intends to foster projects in research and HE in different regions of the world in the framework of solidarity and human rights. Its particular task is to cooperate with universities and other centres of learning fostering the development of profiles developing professional and transversal competencies that relate to its aims and vision. Key actions: Development of Competencies in three Erasmus + Projects: for Architects ARCHIMEDES- looking at the future of the profession and their future role in society, for the social Worker in relation with minorities and migrant populations-Integration without Borders and Social leaders and Communicators in Dare+ with competencies for intercultural communication and active collaborative citizenship, or Young Teachers in Roots and Wings (capacity Building in the field of youth). Affiliations: EDIW works in partnership with many and different Organisations: Universities such as Granada, Groningen, or Pune, Intergovernmental Organisations such as SEAMEO- INNOTECH, professional bodies – six National Associations of Architecture in the ARCHI.MEDES project, International associations and NGOs (Europaisches Forum fur Migrationsstudien Bamberg, Progetto Domani, Rome in Integration without Borders Project or The Teresian Association in ECOSOC UN on the Think Tank on youth issues and the right to education.
