AlmaLaurea was born in 1994 at the University of Bologna (from the idea of a professor of social statistics and two young collaborators), with three great intuitions, which remained unique in the European and international context. Today, AlmaLaurea represents almost 80% of Italian graduates (1,988,000 from 65 Italian Universities up to04/11/2014) and has now grown to 57 expert employees. We never stopped, without any political nor economic interests. Moreover, we have extended the model to high school with AlmaDiploma and AlmaOrientati. AlmaLaurea has taken a strong commitment to internationalize its services in the perspective of a European knowledge-based society, as it has been defined by the Lisbon strategy. The aim is to establish cooperation agreements in Europe and at extra-European level, with a special focus on the Mediterranean basin, as to ensure a capacity transfer for the build-up of universities networks and graduates databanks, contributing to enhance the potential of young people.
