We are pleased to share updates from our recent collaboration with U!REKA as we work together to develop the European Universities Initiative and build more presence of Applied Universities across the European Higher Education Area and the Initiative itself.

Last week, Mona Roman from Metropolia University, in her role as Lead Coordinator for U!REKA European University, presented our Mission Statement at the U!REKA Connects meeting in Ostrava, Czech Republic. The presentation provided a platform for a meaningful discussion among U!REKA’s rectors and leaders, who delved into the joint mission’s implications and discussed the elements they find most engaging.

Additionally, Jakub Grodecki from EURASHE and Michal Karpisek from E³UDRES² European University offered their reflections and shared the lessons learned about the European Universities Initiative and the recent developments in the Bologna Process and the European Education Area (EEA).

As associate members of the U!REKA Alliance, which includes a network of applied sciences universities, EURASHE is committed to advancing international partnerships and exploring new opportunities in this sector. We look forward to continuing our work in promoting educational excellence and fostering innovation and – as the U!REKA mission states – to create a profound shift towards climate-neutral and eventually climate-positive societies, where we educate professionals who are ready and equipped to accelerate this transition.
