The revision of the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) is now officially underway, following the mandate of the Tirana Communiqué (May 2024). You can submit your feedback until 9 January 2026.

As one of the original co-authors of the ESG, EURASHE is actively contributing to the revision through its role in both the Drafting Group and the Steering Committee. This ensures that the voice of Universities of Applied Sciences and the applied higher education sector is represented throughout the process—particularly in practice-oriented learning, institutional diversity, societal and labour market relevance, and lifelong learning pathways.

On 17 November 2025, the first complete draft of the ESG 2027 was published for public consultation. All stakeholders across the EHEA are invited to submit feedback via the dedicated survey. The deadline is 9 January 2026.

This is the first draft of the ESG 2027. In the coming months, the Steering Committee will review the input and refine the text ahead of BFUG approval in autumn 2026 and Ministerial adoption in 2027.

EURASHE warmly encourages its members and partners to take part—your contributions are essential to shaping a forward-looking and inclusive quality assurance framework for Europe’s diverse higher education systems!
