The third edition of the international event Micro-Credentials Masterclass took place at the Algebra Bernays University campus from 18th to 20th March.
The event, organised by Algebra Bernays University and the Knowledge Innovation Centre, brought together over 130 practitioners, innovators, policymakers and other experts from around the world who work on flexible and inclusive learning opportunities through micro-credentials – structured sets of learning outcomes obtained through adult education programmes or professional development programmes in higher education.
Since 2019, the Micro-Credentials Masterclass has been held with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of micro-credentials for individual learning and career pathways, contributing to improving their quality and increasing their number, as well as encouraging action towards greater recognition of micro-credentials and exchanging visions regarding their place in education and the labour market.
At this year’s edition of the event, more than 50 participants shared their visions of the role that micro-credentials will play in education and the labour market, as well as examples of best practices related to micro-credentials, through presentations at the main event held on 19th and 20th March. Additionally, on 18th March, a workshop was held with over 40 participants who collectively explored opportunities for advancing micro-credentialing within lifelong learning systems.
