EU-Canada cooperation in applied higher education

Online

16:00 CEST / 8:00 MDT / 10:00 EDT

Co-organised with Polytechnics Canada, this webinar seeks to explore and present concrete examples of how Canadian and European universities of applied sciences can establish strong partnerships to the benefit of their students and staff.

Representatives from Canadian and Irish member institutions of EURASHE will present case studies of how they established such cooperation in practice. The webinar will also provide a chance to present an upcoming study visit to Canadian EURASHE members, scheduled for Spring 2027.

Institutions on both sides of the Atlantic see value in sharing insights and developing common approaches with international partners, united in a common desire to equip the next-generation talent pipeline with the skills to tackle the global challenges associated with technology adoption, green transition and digital fluency.

This webinar presents concrete examples of how this is being done, specifically referring to the framework for action signed between Polytechnics Canada and Ireland’s Higher Education Authority in November 2024. The framework agrees to promote cooperation and collaboration between Canadian polytechnic institutions and Irish technological universities, aligning on areas such as applied research on common future challenges, teaching and learning practice, joint program development and student/staff development.
