Local and regional impact

Applied Higher Education institutions have a particular vocation to developing cities and regions, and in many cases were set up by governments with this specific objective in mind.

This thematic priority, explored as an overarching theme, builds on the results of the UASiMAP project, focused on mapping and measuring the regional impact of Applied Higher Education and applied research. A key strategic aim is to work with European and international organisations to raise the profile of Higher Education institutions as regional development actors, as well as the need to better fund this mission.

At EURASHE this work is mainly carried out through our members, which comprise over 500 institutions in Europe and beyond.
