It is aimed at: Introduction of the new IT tools to support the students exchanges and networks at the selected Russian HE institutions; Implementation of ECTS for the selected study areas; Creation of QA mechanisms to facilitate student exchanges and to improve student management services at the partner institutions.

In accordance with the specific objectives of the project the following three outcomes are identified:

  1. A developed internal MSPU policy on the implementation of ECTS in accordance with the European guide book;
  2. Administrative staff training to manage student mobility, special techniques knowledge for development of ECTS courses and English language skills development.
  3. Introduction of e-database on student mobility and e-Student Mobility Support System (e-SMOSS) and e-ECTS catalogue of courses.

Each of these outcomes is realistic and manageable, but they also have a great potential for the future development of the RU partner universities’ management and changes in the Russian educational system. Short-term results of SEXTANT project are obtained within 2 years of TEMPUS JEP, however, long-term results are achieved through further dissemination of the project outcomes.
