Sara Joffre

Sara Joffre worked for 13 years as a project manager for communication projects in the private sector, for clients such as Nokia, SAP, Volvo and Proximus.

In 2013, she joined the European Parliament, first within the Belgian Information Office where she was responsible for organising the European Parliament’s Open Day, then within the Events & Exhibitions unit where she coordinated high-level conferences.

She is currently part of the European Elections Implementation team, responsible for relationships with civil society organisations.

Célia Reis

Célia Reis is Computer Engineer from Sciences and Technology Faculty of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and completed an MBA at AESE Escola de Direção e Negócios, being continuously connected to the ITC challenges and its transforming role in the society.
In 1991, she started her career working in Xerox mainly in Pre-sales for the Public Sector. From early days, Célia always had a strong drive for entrepreneurship so, in 1996, with a small group of entrepreneurs, she founds Global N SA, developing decision support systems both in Portugal and Brazil. In 2001, the company is integrated with the Altran Group, the undisputed global leader in Engineering and R&D services (ER&D), with some 47,000 employees in more than 30 countries.
Since then, Célia Reis was in charge of the merging and consolidation process of the Altran Group in Portugal, becoming the CEO in 2009. In 2013, she launched the building blocks of the Portugal Global Engineering Center for the Altran Group, in Fundão and, in 2016, in Porto.
Moreover, Célia has had several leading roles within the Altran Group.

Arend Hardorff

Arend Hardorff is Dean and member of the Board of Directors Hotelschool The Hague since August 2018, where he is responsible for all education and research. Before joining Hotelschool The Hague, he was Director/Dean Academy for Leisure, NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences. Arend is also member of the Supervisory Board of PON Brabant and of the Advisory Committee Brabant C Fonds of the Province of North-Brabant. From 2014, he is a President of the Supervisory Board of MEZZ Concerts and Dance Breda.

Brikena Xhomaqi

Brikena Xhomaqi is the Director of the Lifelong Learning Platform – European Civil Society for Education (former EUCIS-LLL) since 2016. The LLL Platform represents over 40 European wide civil society networks in the field of education, including formal, non-formal and informal learning providers and learners in adult education, and currently these networks represent more than 50 000 educational institutions and associations covering all sectors of formal, non-formal and informal learning. She is a member of the Civil Society Europe Steering Committee since 2017 and former Head of Office of the European Students’ Union (ESU) and Director of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN). She graduated in Innovative Management at the Polytechnic University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and holds a professional Master Degree in International Development and a Bachelor Degree in Political Sciences. Originally from Albania, she has studied and lived in Italy, France and currently Belgium for the last fifteen years. She has an experience of more than 10 years in education and non-profit sector at local, national and international level from a volunteer to a management perspective.

 

Anastasia Demydenko

Anastasia Demydenko is a M.A. student for European Politics and Society, Political Science, and Communication, accomplishing her studies in Ben-Gurion University in Israel and Radboud University in The Netherlands. During her studies Anastasia focused on the diplomatic aspects and International Relations. She works as a research assistant at the Simone Veil Centre for Contemporary European Studies and involved in the frames of Cultural Diplomacy Forum. Having a three year experience in representing the interest of the students in the University Student’s Committee and as Head of the Students Committee in the Faculty of Social Sciences. Anastasia is a member of the Quality Assurance Student Experts Pool since 2017, this year serving in the Steering Committee of the Quality Assurance Pool.

Higher Education in Europe: Play to Win

EURASHE as a Community leader of Professional Higher Education acknowledges the importance of civic and democratic engagement of European citizens and, therefore, supports the importance of voting in the upcoming 2019 European Parliament elections.

To carry out this mission, EURASHE teamed up with the #ThisTimeImVoting campaign to address the importance of voting and to discuss the role of Higher Education in today’s society.

The afternoon debate “Higher Education in Europe: Play to Win” will take place on the 29th of April 2019 from 14:30 to 18:00 at the European Parliament and will be a privileged occasion for HE professional and students to share their experiences, visions, and ideas.

    Ulf-Daniel Ehlers

    Ulf is a learning innovation expert and has been appointed Professor for Educational Management and Lifelong Learning at the Baden-Wurttemberg Cooperative State University in Karlsruhe in 2011. From 2011-2016 he held the position of Vicepresident at the same university and has been responsible for Quality and Academic Affairs. He held positions as Associate Professor of University Duisburg-Essen (Germany), Professor for Technology Enhanced Learning of University Augsburg (Germany) and Associate Professor of the Graduate School for Management and Technology of the University of Maryland University College (USA).

    Ulf is a featured keynote-speaker and speaker to audiences in more than 45 countries and is author of more than 150 scholarly articles with over 3000 academic citations. Ulf is an educational scientist and holds degrees in English Language, Social Sciences and Educational Sciences from the University of Bielefeld, where he finished his Ph.D. with honors in the field of Technology Enhanced Learning in 2003. He was awarded a Habilitation in 2008 from the University of Duisburg-Essen. In his research he established a groundbreaking model for quality from the learner’s perspective and an internationally awarded quality culture model for educational organisations. He has created many international, European and national projects on education quality, ICT and learning in all education sectors and almost all continents. Ulf is founding member and past President of the European Foundation for Quality in E-Learning (2011-2014), has been President of the Society for Media in Science as well as serving on advisory boards to several professional associations in the field.

    Ulf is an internationally recognized researcher and innovator in the area of E-Learning. He has extensive experience in helping individuals achieving superior learning performances and has run lighthouse initiatives in the field of e-learning and knowledge management as well as e-business, including knowledge-technology consulting for small and medium sized enterprises. Ulf has developed the Learners’ Quality Model for e-learning, which is a basis for learner centered quality development in e-learning. He is working as advisor to governments and non-governmental organisations in the field of learning and development cooperation and is member of several advisory boards and editorial committees. Ulf is the author/ publisher of several books on quality and organisational innovation and culture and more than 130 articles and book chapters, has been a featured speaker at numerous international conferences, and is member of several professional associations for e-learning and education.

    Jeannette Weisschuh

    Jeannette Weisschuh is Managing Director at Educhamp with strong expertise in strategy development and program execution, especially in areas like education and digital learning. Before, she was part of the global team to develop HP’s social innovation strategy framework for increased social impact and business relevance and she led Corporate Affairs for HP in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), focusing on social investments in education, environment and EU-related projects where she successfully collaborated with key stakeholders on a regional and local level. Under her leadership HP has received multiple awards and recognitions like the Wall Street Journal Award for an innovative education solution in 2013, the European Business Award for CSR in 2007 and “Deutsche Preis für Wirtschaftskommunikation” in 2002. Jeannette was a board member of CSR Europe from 2009-2016 and currently belongs to the board of University for Applied Sciences of Pforzheim and is a lecturer for Responsible Business Management at European Business School in Reutlingen. Prior to HP she worked for different companies and media agencies in Germany and the USA. She earned a master’s degree in business administration and communications from the University of Pforzheim in Germany.

    Stéphane Lauwick, President of EURASHE

    Stéphane Lauwick joined the University of Le Havre (France) in 1993 as a professeur agrégé. After heading the Electrical Engineering Department of the University Institute of Technology (IUT) of that university, he is now the director of the Institute, an institution that enrolls some 2500 students and delivers 26 awards. He has been member of the EURASHE Board since 2012 and was elected President of EURASHE in 2015 for a mandate of 2 years. Stéphane Lauwick is also member of the Board of ADIUT, the French Association of Directors of University Institutes of Technology. He is the former director of the Continuing Education Centre and Apprentice Training Centre of the University of Le Havre. In that capacity, he actively promoted lifelong learning and developed the recognition of prior learning (RPL) process both within the University and at international level. He has worked with EUCEN on these issues and has advised on the establishment of the RPL process for the University of Mauritius and the World Customs Organisation.
