EURASHE is the European Association of Higher Education Institutions that offer professionally orientated programmes and perform applied research within the Bologna cycles. The role of the Association is primarily to represent the interests of professional higher education at European level, contribute to policy development and provide members with a platform for communication, information, and exchange. EURASHE also develops and implements international projects, in order to better understand trends and approaches to higher education and applied research, gather input for policy positions, promote good practices, and share experience among members.



The Administrative and Financial Officer will work closely with the whole team to ensure the smooth functioning of the Secretariat and the various projects in which EURASHE participates. Tasks include:

• Managing the financial system, in coordination with the Association’s accountant and social security secretariat

• Coordinating project administration, finances, applications, planning and implementation

• Retaining and organising digital and physical information

• Supporting the Secretary-General in monitoring budget and project expenditure

• Helping to organise meetings, including those of the Statutory Bodies

• Managing relations with the Belgian administration and external auditors


We are looking for an independent, open-minded and motivated team player who can work efficiently in an international team. The most important requirements are:

• Higher education degree or vocational qualification, preferably in finance, business administration, or another relevant field

• Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written); knowledge of French or Dutch

• A minimum of 12 months experience of working in the administration of EU-funded projects

• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (365 administration a bonus) and accounting systems

• Good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in an internationally diverse environment

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

• Demonstrated attention to detail

• Knowledge of Belgian labour and tax laws is a strong asset


• Full-time one-year contract (renewable) under Belgian law that may become permanent

• Monthly gross starting salary of between €2300 and €2800 depending on work experience and qualifications

• Additional benefits: transportation allowance, meal vouchers and 30 days of annual leave

• Occasional travel within Europe

• Two days of telework per week
