Abstract
In aiming to ensure students have “the best possible educational experience” (UK Quality Assurance Agency), the UK HE sector is increasingly working with students as partners (rather than as customers). When students arrive at university they become members of a “community of scholars” and for this community to fully function it is important to shape students’ expectations and develop a learning and teaching culture that embeds quality enhancement and engagement which includes a key role for students. By exploring ideas and experiences of engaging with students to ensure the student voice is heard and fully represented, the workshop will encourage participants to share and explore their understanding of the barriers to, and good practice involved in, developing a student-partnership centred culture. The workshop aims to encourage discussion and consideration of practical strategies for the enhancement of the student experience through student engagement in quality.
