Abstract | The ECTS, or European Credit Transfer System was put in place by the Bologna process to ensure international mobility and recognition. It is a student-centred system as on credit represents 24h of work for the student and it is linked to learning outcomes. The presentation exposes how the ECTS is implemented, how the credits can be transferred and recognised, how they are linked to learning outcomes, quality assurance, how they can validate informal learning, and how, through all this, they enhance lifelong learning. |
