A Challenge for Professional Associations

Perhaps due to the fact that it focuses on the workplace itself, work-based learning (WBL) has recently gained a high profile in the United Kingdom. Whilst different stakeholders, including employers, trade unions and, of course, the learners themselves, have seen value in WBL, the part played by the professional associations (PAs) has yet to be fully explored and their potential for even greater involvement discussed.
