Abstract | Flemish Higher Education foresees to implement the Bachelor / Master structure through cooperation between polytechnics (hogescholen) and universities. A ministerial decree will regulate the so-called “Associations”. Meanwhile, Erasmushogeschool Brussels and Vrije Universeit Brussels signed a cooperation agreement, which will prepare the association of the institutions. Other universities and polytechnics signed similar agreements. Through these agreements, polytechnics and universities work on proposals for joint organisation of the BA/MA structure, on curriculum development and innovation, and on joint curricula. The present contribution stresses the possibilities, the limits and the realisations of such cooperation. The Brussels’ experience might be the starting point for a discussion concerning Joint Degrees in an international context. |
