The next edition of Thematic University-Business Forum on the cooperation between higher education and business is taking place this October, focusing on the importance of learning by earning knowledge, skills and experience. This European Commission event is organised in cooperation with the VERN University of Applied Sciences, the University of Split, the University of Rijeka and the Croatian Employers’ Association, in Croatia, Vis island on 19-20 October 2017.
This event will bring together policy makers, representatives from higher education, business and public authorities from all over Europe. Since 2008, a series of events on university-business cooperation have been organised as part of the Modernisation Agenda of Higher Education in Europe (Link to the EC University-Business Cooperation website).
The event will feature plenary sessions with keynotes and panel discussions, and three parallel streams. It will address a number of topics that are highly relevant for the development and support of close cooperation between higher education and the business sector:
- Dual study programmes – combining theory and practice
- Work-based learning, internships and placements
- Graduate tracking
- Higher education and entrepreneurial learning
