EURASHE launched in March 2017 a new, highly appreciated format for informal exchange with the top leaders of universities of applied sciences – the UAS Leadership Forum. This initiative was driven by a need to further strengthen the mutual dialogue with those who should feed into the policy and are in the eminent position for introduction and implementation of needed innovative initiatives. The forum serves as a platform for mutual sharing of views and experience regarding key strategic issues between presidents, rectors, vice-rectors and general directors of European universities of applied sciences.

Following the welcome words by Mr. Stéphane Lauwick, the EURASHE President, the second UAS Leadership Forum will focus on three issues:

  • A potential role and contribution of universities of applied sciences for European society as seen within the European Commission’s renewed EU agenda for higher education and instruments for their support with an input by Adam Tyson, head of unit at DG EAC, European Commission
  • A potential research agenda of universities of applied sciences within the variety of instruments of the European Commission presented by Maria da Graça Carvalho, ‎member of the Unit “Scientific Advice Mechanism” of the DG RTD, European Commission
  • Key themes for EURASHE policy paper for the Bologna Ministerial conference in Paris, May 2018, a facilitated discussion on the participants on challenges and opportunities UAS face and actions required by various authorities and stakeholders.

The event is free of charge, you can register your interest in participating here.

Please note that due to the restricted places at the Forum the participants will be selected according to selection criteria, reflecting a fair distribution of UAS participants from geographical point of view. EURASHE will send a separate invitation for the participants in mid-September.
