College of Polytechnics Jihlava (VŠPJ)

The College of Polytechnics Jihlava (VSPJ) was established in 2004 as the first public college of a non-university type in the Czech Republic and is the only public college in the Vysočina region. The College of Polytechnics Jihlava is a public institution for higher education providing accredited bachelor study programmes with the duration of six semesters. The study programmes taught at the college offer a well-balanced combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in accordance with the needs of regional labour market. One semester-long placement is a significant part of the programmes. Although the language of instruction is Czech, some courses are offered in foreign languages.One of the main objectives of applied research is to address specific needs in the region. VSPJ is the only college in the Czech Republic that runs its own travel agency.VŠPJ also offers programmes of life-long learning, including the Third Age University providing learning opportunities in a range of courses. VŠPJ cooperates with  higher education institutions in EU countries through international projects and Erasmus programme.
