Mean Chey University

Mean Chey University first opened its academic year on March 17, 2008 and was presided by His Excellency SAR KHENG, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Ministry of Internal Affairs. It was inaugurated under the highest presidency of Samdech Akka Moha Sene Padei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of Royal Government of Cambodia. Mean Chey University consists of 5 faculties: Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Languages; Faculty of Science and Technology; Faculty of Social Science and Community Development, Faculty of Business Management and Tourism; and Faculty of Agriculture and Food Processing. Mean Chey University is an historical achievement, which is resulted from a brilliant and practical vision of Royal Government of Cambodia that led by three samdech akka Moha, especially Samdech Akka Moha Sene Padei Techo HUN SEN. Local authorities, military officers, government officials, philanthropists in and outside the country, and citizens in the province made a very big contribution to building the university, initiated by His Excellency General KE KIMYAN, Deputy Priminister and Lok Chumteav Oknha MAO MALAY, the founders, purposely to turn this region, once used to be a bloody battle field, into a human resources-cultivating junction to contribute to poverty reduction of the citizens in compliance with the rectangular strategies of Royal Government of Cambodia.
