Education Network Association (EdNet)

Association of Educational Establishments “Education Network” (EdNet) is a non-profit organization established in 2003. Education Network Association (www.ednet.edu.kg) is an association of higher educational institutions, which unites more than 30 universities from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan and aims at the education quality enhancement and assisting reformation in higher education. Based in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, EdNet’s mission is to meet increasingly challenging needs of the market and provide “Assistance to development and integration of business and education in Central Asian countries to enable the realization of the economic potential of the region”. To achieve its mission EdNet develops successful partnership with local and international universities and educational institutions, government officials, business sector and donor organizations and unites their capacities in order to serve as a platform for the useful initiatives and reforms in higher education. EdNet has an exchange membership status with European Association of Higher Educational Institutions EURASHE and Central and Eastern European Association for Management Development CEEMAN. Moreover EdNet has a very well established partnership with the Ministry of education and science, Ministry of economic regulation, Ministry of youth and labour, Ministry of social care and with the wide range of civil society institutions and individual experts. EdNet along with Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic has a strong reputation of a professional independent organization capable of effective higher education development and education policy. EdNet works with experts in education, consultancy, monitoring and evaluation in various fields. EdNet conducts surveys involving employers, students and other stakeholders to the process of education assessment. EdNet has an experience of developing new state educational standards based on competence approach. Since 2007 more than 3000 faculties have attended School for teacher development of EdNet which educates the local and regional universities’ representatives how to develop programs and curricula on the base of competence approach.
