The Croatian Council of Universities and University Colleges of Applied Sciences (VVIVŠ) is an organization in the Croatian Higher Education System consisting of a total of 36 Higher Education institutions; private and public Universities of Applied Sciences and University Colleges. The Council’s foundation and scope of work are regulated by the Croatian Law on Science and Higher Education. The Council is responsible to consider and decide on all joint issues concerning Universities of Applied Sciences and University Colleges in Croatia as well as to issue opinions and recommendations regarding their work and development. The Council is administratively and organizationally supported by the Agency for Science and Higher Education (ASHE), a government agency in charge of accrediting academic programs and evaluating institutions in the Croatian HE System. The Council is a member of EURASHE since 2006. The head of the Council is its President, Asst. Prof. Damir Jugo, Ph. D., Dean of Edward Bernays University College in Zagreb.
