Universitatea ‘Petre Andrei’ din Iaşi (UPA)
The University of ‘Petre Andrei’ in Iasi is the largest and the most prestigious private institution of higher education in the North – East Region of Romania. It was founded in 1990, as a part of the ‘Petre Andrei’ Academic Foundation, a non-governmental organization dedicated to the memory of Petre Andrei, a well-known philosopher and scholar. After a long process of institutional assessment, under Law 480 from 20th June 2002, it became a private higher education institution, of public utility, part of the Romanian educational system.
