Prof. Dr. Philipp Pohlenz has been professor of research in higher education and of professionalisation of academic teaching at the faculty of humanities of Magdeburg Otto-von-Guericke-Universität since 2014. He is leading the ‘fokus:LEHRE’ project of the university that aims at raising the quality of teaching through professionalisation. The project puts forward the quality of teaching and studies, and considers, a.o., the growing diversity of students as regards their age or previous experience, so as to develop appropriate actions for the development of teaching and learning and the support of students. Previously he was researcher at the University of Potsdam, and director of the Centre for Quality development in Teaching and learning (ZfQ). He wrote his dissertation (Dr. rer-pol) on ‘Quality of data as the cornerstone of quality assurance in teaching and learning’ at Potsdam University.
