Jiří Nantl is First Deputy Minister of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic since 2012. Prior to this post he was responsible for Higher Education in the Ministry. In his work at Masaryk University (Czech Republic), he was Head of the Department of Studies in 2005, Chancellor from 2006 to 2009 and Director of legal and corporate relations from 2009 to 2010. A political science and law graduate of Masaryk University and Nottingham Trent University (United Kingdom) Mr Nantl has also been on the Board of Trustees at Masaryk University since 2011. His research activities include his participation in the Czech project on National Qualifications framework for tertiary education (2009, Ministry of Education) and his involvement as investigator for the project on the introduction of the National Qualifications Framework in Czech Higher Education (2009, Ministry of Education/Masaryk University). Involved in Higher Education policy developments at international and European level, he is a member of the BFUG, Committee of EQAR, Steering Committee of the Programme of institutional management in higher education of the OECD since 2011.
