Pericles Lytras (sociologist and psychologist) is the Vice-President of the Technological Educational Institute (T.E.I.) of Athens and a Professor of Tourist Sociology and Tourist Psychology at the Department of Administration of Tourist Enterprises of the above-mentioned institution. Visiting Professor of the Athens University of Economics and Business, MsM “Program in Services Management” (2004-2009) and of the Technological Educational Institute of Piraeus and of the National High School of Public Health. Academic Director of T.E.I. of Athens for the “Lifelong Learning Program : educational and training opportunities for all”, academic coordinator of LLP/Erasmus Program and examiner of the State Scholarships Foundation since 1994. Author’s writings include 19 scientific books (11 on tourism), editor of two Scientific Journals (on Tourism and on Administration and Economics), member of the Editorial Advisory Board of university scientific journals (e.x. “Tourismos”) and editor of collective books. President of his Department (1994-1997, 2008-2010), Vice – President (1998-2000, 2005-2006, 2010-2011), Director of the Management and Economics School (1999-2000, 2003 -2006). Former President of the National Youth Sports Center of Aghios Kosmas, former Vice – President of the “International Federation of Travel Journalists and Writers of Tourism” (F.I.J.E.T. 1993 – 1999), former Vice – President of the “Mediterranean Federation of Travel Journalists and Writers of Tourism” (O.M.J.E.T. 1994 – 2000), former President of the “Greek Association of Journalists and Writers of Tourism” (1993 – 2004), former Vice – President of the “Hellenic Society of Sport Psychology” (1994 – 2008), etc. He has been awarded several times for his scientific, tourist, sport, editing and social contribution. He is married and father of three children.
