Nigel Lloyd is Principal of Cambridge Professional Development Ltd (CamProf, together with CamProf Polska and CamProf Inc in Canada), a consultancy specialising in systems for development of professional and technical staff, on-the-job learning, e-learning; occupational standards, key competences, employability; assessment of professional competence, recognition of prior learning; qualifications, qualification frameworks, recognition of foreign qualifications; international project management, professional mobility, multicultural aspects. Nigel set up CamProf in 1994 which has designed and led dozens of European projects in these areas – for example: Europroject Using Standards of Competence for Continuing professional development for Construction Industry Practitioners (EUSCCCIP), European Framework for Work Experience (EFWE), developing a European qualification for psychologists (EuroPsy), occupational standards for European Financial Advisors (€FA), recognition of prior learning for Polish construction workers at home and abroad (APL-Bud), development of i-Labs for innovation in Poland, Romania & Turkey. He is currently working on the PROPOUND project on teaching key competences in postgraduate courses in EHEA, and on a variety of Canadian projects. Nigel trained initially as a civil engineer, with 16 years-experience on rural development projects in India, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Somalia, Ethiopia, Bangladesh. He is currently working principally in Canada – he holds dual nationality: British and Canadian.
