Jan Koucký, Director of the Education Policy Centre at the Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic) focuses on the relationship between education and the broader social and economic context (e.g. equity and labour market issues). He has served in executive and advisory roles at the Ministry of Education and as a two-term Member of the Parliament, as Vice-Chairman of the Science, Education and Culture Committee and in the Foreign Affairs Committee. In the same time he was involved in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Strasbourg in the Committee on Culture and Education; on Social, Health and Family Affairs; and on Economic Affairs and Development. He has been involved in several research initiatives of the Czech Ministry for Education and of Labour, the OED and the EC, including being Research expert group member on ‘Labour Market and VET’ for the EC.
