EURASHE is involved in the activities of the Bologna Follow-Up Group (BFUG) through its activities in the Bologna Process, the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), its status of Consultative Member of the BFUG, and its active participation in the EHEA Ministerial Conferences.

In 2015 Belarus became the 48th member state of the EHEA.
The EHEA was the main objective of the Bologna Process since its inception in 1999. Ensuring more compatible, more comparable and coherent systems of higher education in Europe is one of the reasons behind its creation.

The BFUG oversees the implementation of the Bologna Process between the ministerial meetings, and all its members actively participate in the working agenda.
As a member of the BFUG, EURASHE is invited to represent the voice of professional higher education (PHE) during meetings of the BFUG working groups, the BFUG Board but also BFUG meetings.
EURASHE was represented in the 9th EHEA Ministerial Conference by its Andreas G. Orphanides, its Vice-Presidents, Michal Karpíšek and Patrick Blondé, its Secretary General, Johan Cloet, and Stéphane Lauwick its incoming President.
EURASHE was represented at the 2012 EHEA Ministerial Conference by a delegation of 5 comprising of Andreas G. Orphanides, EURASHE’s President, Michal Karpíšek, EURASHE’s Vice-President, Stefan Delplace, EURASHE Secretary General, Nicolae Dură, ‘Ovidius’ University of Constanta (member of EURASHE) and Tim Creedon, Institutes of Technology Ireland (IOTI) (member of EURASHE) and President of UASnet.
EURASHE had an official delegation of 5 persons present at the 2009 Bologna Ministerial Conference. The delegation was led by President Lars Lynge Nielsen, and further consisted of Vice-Presidents Andreas G. Orphanides and Michal Karpíšek, Secretary General Stefan Delplace and Ann Verreth, Secretary General of the Flemish Council of University Colleges (VLHORA), as a representative of the national member associations of EURASHE. Apart from the above delegation, there was a strong representation of EURASHE members in the national delegations, among others Gintautas Bražiūnas (Lithuania), James Calleja (Malta), Mati Lukas (Estonia), and Razis Panos (Cyprus)
